DesignTao was initially meant to be a blog focused on everything creative in the San Diego area. This included local events, artists, exhibitors and everything in-between. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to really focus on it for quite a while, but I still keep it around to one day realize its potential of being a great resource for neighborhood creatives.
Since this was initially intended as a bit of a hobby site, I used it as an opportunity to try out the Chyrp blogging engine. Based on PHP, the platform is pretty easy to use. Since this was the author's first major jump into content management programming, he kept it nice and streamlined without any unnecessary bulk. It was a pleasure to work with and I'm looking forward to using it in future projects.
